about me.
Stacey Coffee - Textile Artist - Collage Enthusiast
I fell in love with fabric long before I discovered fabric art. I’ve never quite connected with traditional quilting, even though I adore pattern designs, plaids, polka dots, and putting together all kinds of interesting color combinations. Here’s the problem... once I’ve pieced together enough blocks to see what the completed project will look like, I lose all interest.
Textile collage was the perfect fit. Every project continues to evolve as scraps of fabric are layered and fused, creating one-of-a-kind art that captures my attention right up until the final stitch.
That’s what draws me in and keeps me coming back.
As a nationally recognized instructor and award-winning quilter based in Ohio, I travel throughout the country sharing my love of textile art. When students begin to see an image the way I do—understanding what catches my eye and all the decisions I make along the way—they start to incorporate the elements of value and contrast into their work and push their creativity further than they thought they could.
There’s no place I’d rather be than in the classroom.
